Universal has unveiled an exciting behind-the-scenes featurette for the highly anticipated sequel, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
“We’re literally blowing up the island,” says star Chris Pratt. Indeed, there’s plenty of pyrotechnic action on display in the fun marketing video, which offers up some great behind-the-scenes footage and some exciting snippets from the film itself. We get a look at some of the many dinosaurs that will be making an appearance – many in animatronic form, as well as the return of Jeff Goldblum’s Ian Malcolm.
So, what’s up with the destruction of Isla Nubar? Well, according to plot points dropped by EW…
… The sequel — set several years after 2015’s billion-dollar smash Jurassic World — concerns a volcano on Isla Nublar that threatens the dinosaurs that had overrun the park at the end of the previous film. Who has the best shot at preventing the prehistoric beasts from becoming extinct (again)? That would be Chris Pratt’s dino trainer Owen Grady and Bryce Dallas Howard’s former park manager Claire Dearing.
Yep, Grady and Dearing will be aiming to prevent dinosaur extinction #2. Bring it on.
The film is directed by J.A. Bayona, who’s three for three so far, having delivered the goods on The Orphanage, The Impossible and A Monster Calls.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, also starring James Cromwell, Ted Levine, Justice Smith, Geraldine Chaplin, Daniella Pineda, Toby Jones, Rafe Spall, and BD Wong, will arrive in Australia on June 21 and hits the US on June 22, 2018.
