Filming has officially wrapped on the Han Solo prequel/spinoff movie, and director Ron Howard has taken to social media to mark the occasion.

“As we wrap up production, I just want to take this moment to thank an incredibly talented cast and crew for all their hard work,” Howard says in the video below. The filmmaker also takes the opportunity to reveal the official title for the highly anticipated picture.

There you have it, Solo: A Star Wars Story. It’s perfectly understandable choice for a title, following on from the title given to the first Star Wars spinoff film, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

It’s been a bit of a bumpy ride for Solo to get to this point. Howard was brought on around two days after directors Chris Lord and Phil Miller were fired from the film – with only 3 weeks of production left.

Solo: A Star Wars Story, starring Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo and Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, with a cast that includes Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Thandie Newton, will hit US cinemas on May 25, 2018.
